Message From Pastor Chad

One of the things I rejoice in right now is the ability to meet and worship.  For us to continue to meet in-person and worship we are having to make some adjustments. You can see how our church is handling the Covid-19 situation by going to This page on our website will keep you updated as to where we are what is being done.

Starting in August we will be moving to Code Orange. In this stage we will continue to meet at 8:45am and 11:00am for worship. Small Groups will meet outside, online, or with major modifications.  You can find more info about Small Groups on the website. We want to let you know that we are STRONGLY ENCOURAGING THE USE OF MASKS while you are at SmithvilleFBC and that you continue to practice social distancing.  Also, to stay connected to all the updates at SmithvilleFBC please text the word “Update” to 615-257-8700.  This will put you on a text list where we will send updates as things change.

You know there are two ways to look at these crazy times right now. The Book of Ezra shares how when the people of Israel returned to Jerusalem and rebuilt the foundation of the temple “many of the older priests, Levites, and family heads, who had seen the first temple, wept loudly when they saw the foundation of this temple, but many others shouted joyfully.” (Ezra 3:12) I choose to rejoice in what we have.  We may not like how we have to do things right now.  We may not want to make these changes to sustain the health of ourselves and our families. BUT we still have God.  We still can Worship. So, Rejoice in Today for Today is still God’s Day!!

In Him,

Pastor Chad
