G.R.O.W. Outreach Teams

What is G.R.O.W. outreach?

The acronym G.R.O.W. stands for God Rewards Our Work.  Quite simply, GROW is a local church outreach program.  GROW is organized, has 5 foundational principles upon which it rests, and offers a way for you to reach out to our community regardless of how adept you may feel at evangelism and outreach.

What are the 5 foundational principles of GROW?

1.    Sowing and reaping.  If we as a church want to reap a harvest of souls for the Lord, then we must be about the business of sowing the seeds of the gospel into people's lives.

2.    Involving every member.  GROW has different avenues that you can work in so that everybody has a job.

3.    Having fun with outreach.  Outreach should be enjoyable for the person doing the outreach.

4.    Quality time rather than quantity time.  The time requirement of being on a GROW outreach team is 1 hour and 15 minutes per month.  Your GROW team will meet only one night per month.  There will be two GROW teams when we start the program.

5.    Reaching out by divine appointment.  We believe that God is already working in the world.  When our reaching out meets up with God's ongoing work in a person's life then you have a divine appointment.

How does GROW actually function?

We will have two GROW teams.  Each team will have a designated night of the month that they will meet.  There will be a list of people that need to be contacted when the team arrives at the church.

There are three primary avenues of outreach through the GROW program.  First, GROW incorporates visitation outreach through soul winning visits, church prospect visits, and member care visits.  Teams of two people will do visitation.  Second, GROW has a group of people who will be responsible for writing letters to people in our church and in our community.  Letters are written to new movers, people who have visited the church, members who haven't been to church in a long time, people in the community who are experiencing crisis, etc.  Third, GROW outreach uses the telephone to make follow up contact with people we have already visited and with church members who have been absent or who are experiencing crisis in their lives.

GROW outreach will begin early April (specific dates to be announced soon).  Will you be a part of our GROW outreach teams???
